Projects

I love to blend therapy and science with the creative arts. My background is in dance, which I have studied in various disciplines for over 35 years. Plus, I have an MA in Dance Anthropology. I worked as a travel writer for over 16 years, exploring the world and telling stories about what I learned. I also trained as an actor and still work in the industry on occasion, most recently in podcasting. This page showcases some of the projects I have worked on over the years.

Books

I am a published author. I spent 4 years travelling in Canada to research my book entitled, Dancing Through History: In Search of the Stories that Define Canada (2012). I worked with Indigenous and settler communities to explore how dance connected them as a community and the meaning it brought to the individuals who continued the traditions.

I have also published a book of poetry written during my struggle with bulimia entitled, Silent Screams: Into and Out of Bulimia Through Poetry (2002, 2008, 2014).

Magazine

Beauty: You Define It magazine was a publication written by youth for youth (2005). It explored issues such as body image, eating disorders, media influence and general mental health issues in a glossy magazine format.

Podcasts and Voice Acting

I was the voice actor for Alex Reagan in The Black Tapes podcast (2015-17), a journalist investigating paranormal phenomena and the mysterious life of skeptic Dr. Richard Strand. This character also appears in Tanis and The Last Movie podcasts.

I have also voiced short stories for Apex Magazine: The Podcast, and marketing materials for corporate clients.
