Days Inn Vancouver Airport Hotel Bed in Richmond, BC
Because Richmond hotels are so close to the Vancouver International Airport, many are called “airport hotels.” But they’re located in downtown Richmond and act much more like city centre hotels.
The Days Inn Vancouver Airport Hotel, though, is more like what it’s billed as. Located at the edge of Richmond, their free shuttle takes you to the airport in about 10 minutes.
Days Inn is a simple, very basic hotel. There’s no restaurant but a minimal breakfast of cereal, fruit, pastries and waffles are included in the price. The sitting area is furnished, you guessed it, simply, and looks out to the street.
Wireless internet runs free throughout the building, but King rooms also include a ready-to-use computer. Nice touch. Handicap rooms are spacious and the staff will remove one of the bed mattresses if a guest in a wheelchair feels that the bed is too high to get in and out of.
There is a balcony for travellers to hang out on, although it overlooks junk and an abandoned building (or maybe it’s a business?!) across the street. It’s also the dedicated smoking area and is accessible 24 hours.

What I liked:
- Definitely a nice touch to have computers in the King rooms. If you’re only in town for a day or two or just plain don’t want to bring your laptop, this is a unique feature to make it easy to check emails, etc.
- You can also get a room with a microwave, which makes it a cheap way to take advantage of the nearby Starbucks and be able to heat up snacks instead of going for an all out meal.
- I just loved the overall simplicity of the hotel. Basic accommodations, clean rooms, and extremely friendly and helpful staff. There’s just no pretence here and that’s refreshing.
