St. Marks Summit hiking trail (11 km roundtrip) is located in Cypress Provincial Park, just west of Vancouver. It belongs to the longer Howe Sound Crest Trail (30 km) and is the first mountain peak along this larger route.
Driving from Vancouver, cross the Lions Gate Bridge from Stanley Park (downtown) or find the nearest on ramp to Highway 1 westbound from points all over the city. Take exit #8 Cypress Provincial Park. Drive up the mountain on Cypress Parkway until reaching the far north parking lot for downhill skiing. Park anywhere in this lot.
For those without a car, Cypress Mountain runs a shuttle service from various locations throughout Vancouver and Burnaby. Visit the Cypress Coach Lines website for details.
St. Marks Summit trail begins by walking north. There is a signpost with a map and trail directions to the right, just below the chairlift. Choose your route and start walking!
