Flights to Jamaica

I arrived in Montego Bay, Jamaica today after a bit of a crazy situation. My flight was booked for tomorrow by mistake, so I missed that flight and had to be re-booked for the next one. Much waiting and wondering ensued, but at least I ended up on a plane…

It had me arriving in Toronto with the other writers at 1:30am. We slept overnight at the Holiday Inn Select Airport and then got up at 6:30am for the connecting flight to Montego Bay (starting December 19, 2008, a direct flight from Vancouver to Montego Bay will launch with Air Canada).

But as my friend Steven told me, “You’ll forget all about that as soon as you arrive in Jamaica.” Indeed, I did.

I’m staying at the Half Moon Rose Hall in Montego Bay tonight, a five star resort covering 400 acres and two miles of private beach. My suite walks onto the white sand and crashing surfs, and the hotel architecture is plantation style. A definite winner.

The people here are beautiful in all ways and I seem to be falling in love about every three minutes. And this is only day one.
