Zodiac Ride from Ship to Beach, Radstock Bay, Nunavut
I’m now back on dry and stable land! Although it feels good to have a solid ground under my feet again, I can’t help but feel a HUGE pang of loss for what I have left. The Canadian arctic is like no other place on earth. Farley Mowat called the deep attraction and obsession to return an arctic fever and I think I caught quite a bit of it.
My life, and outlook on life as I know it, has certainly changed and shifted as I got to know the thoughts and hardships of our fellow northerners, and got a glimpse into the fantastic landscape that few of us Canadians have ever seen firsthand.
I can’t imagine the strangeness of settling back into a society where things come so easily and the weather is not a daily obstacle, but here I am ready for the next 10 days in Quebec City and Montréal.
