(I’ve joined 100 passengers on board a small cruise ship to explore the Eastern coast of Baffin Island in Nunavut, Canada. Join me as I see wildlife, phenomenal landscapes and meet friendly locals with Adventure Canada.)

As I think about my trip to the Canadian arctic when I wake up and in snippets throughout the week, I’m hit with nostalgia, sadness, joyfulness, and a subtle feeling of pride.

I’m proud of the adventure all of us passengers went on together, exploring the country that most of us had never seen before. I find myself stopping during the day to relive a memory that has stayed with me, expanding my life experience and reminding me of how lucky I was to be aboard the ship.

I woke up this morning to the best email of the day: the trip’s log, scribed by the gregarious and affable Shelagh Rogers (can I say BFF?), was ready to download. I’ve spent the morning, which should have been used for pitching story ideas to various publications, deeply immersed in Shelagh’s witty account of our unforgettable adventures.

Although you might not get the inside jokes (and might wonder at our sanity), please read through the extraordinary expedition that took us from Kuujjuaq, northern Quebec, to Resolute Bay.

You can download the document from Adventure Canada’s website (called “Album: Baffin Expedition Log 2008″). Enjoy. You might not get choked up as I did, but you’ll get a good feeling of life on board these phenomenal voyages (and probably want to book your own!).
