Bboy & Bgirl Battle by Famous Circle: Circle Prinz

I made my way through the throng of people hanging around the door of the Russian Hall in Vancouver. The hip hop music was vibrating through the open door and black “Circle Prinz” t-shirts were everywhere. I had arrived.

The gym was sweaty and hot, vibrating with the energy of Bboy crews. There was a small cipher (dance circle) near the back of the gym and a larger one at the front near the stage. The DJ was spinning hip hop tune after hip hop tune, letting the Bboys and Bgirls dance for their lives.

Down to the last Bboy crews, the final battle was up. Four guys made the cut, two on each crew, to win the title of Circle Prinz. This leads to being in the Circle Kingz finals in Lausanne, Switzerland this November. The winner of this battle gets their expenses paid to travel to Lausanne and compete with international talent. Here we go.

The MC introduces the Bboys – Battle Born and Raw Felons – and the DJ gets his fingers ready to roll. The two crews jump around a bit, wipe the sweat from their bodies, and then settle in the centre of the one large cipher that has been created in the gym. Although both Bboy crews showed some crazy skills, Battle Born from Las Vegas (the crew on the right in the video) got the job done and they’re now on their way to Lausanne, Switzerland this November.
