Back after a three-year hiatus, the Arab Latin Fiesta in Vancouver, Canada kicked off this year with a performance by Karen Flamenco. Led by founder Karen Michelle Pitkethly, the fiery sounds of Spain were beat out on the dance floor by Karen and her troupe.
The intimate venue was Mona’s Lebanese Cuisine (1328 Hornby Street, Vancouver) where diners were treated to a Lebanese Feast ($30 CDN) before the dancers took to the stage at 9:30 p.m. ($7 CDN with dinner reservation; $15 for standing room). The only rule here is to arrive early, as the dinner always sells out and standing room gets pretty tight.
